The picture at night is actually ok. You can see objects very clear. But again, the camera resolution is not so high, but you can see every object very clear, day or night.
Yes I taped the power for the camera and the trigger from the reverse light.
I have more pics of my rearview cam if you like to see more.
Hope that helps.

For those of you who have installed after-market cameras, in all honesty, would you say it's more useful or more fun?
I'm getting D3 installed this week, and adding the camera would be around $275 or so. If it was integrated with something like parking assist, it'd be a no-brainer for me.
I'm just trying to decide if it's worth it. I'm thinking of waiting until after the nav, etc is installed and see if I can live without it and then get it later. But it seems cool....

shdowflare,
the camera actually ended up being a little bit larger than i had thought so i had to dremel away some plastic to make it fit. with the size of the kenwood, it only fits under the tl trunk lid at one angle. i haven't worked on a g in a long time, so i don't remember what the underside of the license plate area looks like. maybe take a picture and i can tell you more?
as you can see from the first pic, the angle can be adjusted for the camera just by loosening and tightening the two screws. depending on how you mount it, you can probably have a good 90 degrees to work with. i chose the kenwood because the mount uses an adhesive, not screws.

Thanks Mohawk...I'll take some pics of the rear license plate area when I get my G back on Friday! Regarding the adhesive...it sounds like there must be a flat area on which to attach the camera bracket... guess we'll see what it looks like when I get my ride back!

I have the Pioneer universal back-up camera that I just installed into mine. The picture is actually great. Has a very wide viewing angle. Even in dark light, the picture is good. One of my friends bought the boyo camera, and his picture gets pretty grainy at night. The Pioneer much less so, at least so far as I have used it (Just installed it this weekend).

Is CCD worth the extra money?
Fleebay sells a bunch of cmos cameras for around $20 to $30....are they all crap?
