When you say swivel up and down, is this manually done or automatically it swivels up and down ?

Does this camera work with any aftermarket head unit that support backup cameras? My Eclipse AVN5435 supports a backup camera...and I like how this one looks. Wonder if it'd work?

Thanks,
B

shdowflare,

i think only the eclipse backup camera works with the eclipse head units. it's not a yellow plug like the kenwood or pioneer. double check to make sure.

Yeah I called Eclipse and they offer an adapter to convert that connector to a regular video input. So assuming these cameras have a composite video connector I'm goo.

I have a stock Nav. I am a fan of OEM look and I dont really like License plate frame. So this is mine. You can barely see it. It is Panasonic universal Backup Camera CY-RC50KU. Picture quality is so so.

And how's the picture at night? Oh, where'd you tap into your reverse lamps?

Thanks,
B

The rearview camera is actually sitting on my license plate. I have to make 2 vertical cut to my license plate, about less than an inch, so the camera can sit there and I put double sided tape on the back of the license plate. It is kinda hard to explain if you never see the actual rear view camera. It is easier to do it.

The picture at night is actually ok. You can see objects very clear. But again, the camera resolution is not so high, but you can see every object very clear, day or night.

Yes I taped the power for the camera and the trigger from the reverse light.

I have more pics of my rearview cam if you like to see more.

Hope that helps.

Has any of you had experience with the Boyo camera?

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-vNlCwt5...px?i=707VTL300

* rear-view camera housed in a black zinc alloy license plate frame
* attaches to your vehicle with 4 supplied hex-head bolts (surrounds license plate)
* 24.5' video/power/ground cable
* wide-angle lens with a 130-degree vertical and horizontal viewing angle
* scratch-resistant, no-rust coating and waterproof housing
* composite video output
* dimensions: 6-7/16"H x 12-1/4"W x 1"D
* warranty: 1 year
My local installer is recommending that camera.
