My GPS mod is finally completed!

I couldn't wait for the next GM DIY day. I know that Loc has offered me to install the TVandNav2Go module at the next DIY meet. Thanks Loc for the offer!!

So, I decided to try and install the TVandNav2Go module and MechEE Navihack last Sunday. I also installed a rearview camera.

The install processes took me about 5 hours (Yes, I did all the mods myself ).

The nice feature of the Navihack is whener I want to switch between the GPS Nav and the Video, I just push 1 sec and relase the OK button.

Since Navihack only offer 1 auto aux switch, I had to install a switch for the rearview camera. I didn't tap the reverse light, the rearview camera is controlled by a switch.

DIY resources:Thanks to all the original posters above for posting the DIY!

The breakdown costs are posted at the bottom of this thread.

Video3: TVandNav2Go, Rearview camera and Navihack's feature in action!
<embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i170.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid170.photobucket.com/albums/u266/2K6G35/DIY/MVI_6263.flv">

As you can see from the video3, all I need is pressing and releasing the GPS OK button to switch between GPS and video. Great feature of Navihack!!!
The switch/rocker is used to switch between the GPS/Video1 and rearview camera (Video2)

A lof of people PMs me about the costs. So, I put the items and their costs.

If you are trying to put them together yourself, then the breakdown costs would be (for brand new items):
- TVandNav2Go module can be purchased from TVandNav2Go.com or PM TVandNav2Go (~$225 for PnP/$125 for Non PnP)
- MechEE's Navihack (~$40) << no longer produced! But you can get the KPTechnology's OK bypass for ~$40
- Small blue switch/rocker ($3 @Autozone)
- Audio module: Pac AAI-NIS2 for Nissan (~$85)
- Video2 source: Rearview Camera (~$100) << mine is FREE
- Video1 source: You will need a DVD video player, PS2 or iPod video

Subtotal $453 without the DVD headrests entertainment

On my setup, Video1 source: Invision Revolution II (~$1200) that comes with these nice features:
- FactoryMatch™ replacement headrests
- (2) Independent top-loading DVD players
- 7” Adjustable widescreen TFT LCD monitors
- Factory Match Warranty™
- Dual channel infrared wireless headphones
- Standard headphone jack
- Integrated RCA game ports
- On screen display menu functions
- Full function remote control
- Integrated wireless FM transmitter
- Backlit control buttons for basic functions
- Patented cables for quick installation
- Convenient core replacement process
- Advanced exchange on warranty parts
- Built to OE manufacturing standards

Total costs: ~$1650 includes the DVD headrests entertainment

Music videos, FTW!!

Too bad my HQ music videos (Divx format) online source has shutdown the site (http://www.stage6.com). I downloaded over 100 music videos 4 days before the site is scheduled to be shutdown.

Now, I need to find other HQ sites to download them. Any suggestion?

Since I have the Navihack installed, I only need 1 switch.

No, I didn't. I have updated my 1st post on top to include the DIY resources on this site that I used to do my mods.

Navihack is now banned on this site. KPTechnology is still selling the module for $40. It basically enables the module to auto disable the OK button on OEM GPS whenever you turn on the GPS. It also allows you to enter the address when the car is moving.
