Infiniti clock/circuit Q's
Hey all,
I recently did some wiring and after reassmbling my dash I noticed my Infiniti clock does not light up at night when the rest of the interior is glowing amber. I'm pretty sure it used to light up but now I can't remember for sure. Can you guys confirm this for me? I checked the wire connection directly into the clock and it's fine (the clock keeps time fine, just doesn't illuminate).
Also, I noticed the small harness that plugs into the plastic trim piece covering the clock and the temperature/climate display was loose. Upon closer inspection, I discovered the small circuit board into which this harness plugs was cracked in half. The circuit board itself has a small LED light that comes out the front of the trim piece (visible just to the right of the clock when fully assembled).
1. What's this circuit for?
2. Could it be causing my OEM clock light to fail? If not, why isn't the clock illuminating?
3. Any idea how much to replace the broken circuit board?
Thanks as always,
B

Anyone have the specs on that bulb? Or should I just yank it and take it to a parts store?
And what about that circuit board/LED? Still haven't found any info on those yet either.

Ordered mine from this place, not as bright as I thought it was going to be but works fine and it fits perfect

the bulb is called a "grain of wheat" bulb, check my latest post in interior light section. I replaced mine for less than the $90 the dealer quoted to do the job!

Figured I'd ask the question...anyone ever figure out what the small circuit board/LED attached to the clock finisher piece is for? I'm getting ready to repair it (super glue + solder), since Infiniti tried charging me $300 for the circuit board alone (which is the size if of small USB thumb drive).
It would be good to know what purpose that board serves...
Thanks,
B

Thought I'd post the answer to this. That little circuit board next to the clock is for the alarm LED. It's the little light that flickers every few seconds when your car's off and locked to let would-be thiefs know that the factory alarm system is armed.
I was able to successfully cement the board back together and re-soldered the positive/negative circuits! My alarm LED is functioning again without making a $300 trip to the stealership!
