Airbag/SRS light flashing

Hey guys,

I installed an inverter and PS2 into my G yesterday and that's working great. However, I now have a flashing airbag/SRS light on my dash. Anyone have any clues what may have gone wrong?

I did drill into the back of the OEM DVD compartment. I also took out the front seat bolts and was moving the seat using the power controls while it wasn't fully secured to the floor. And of course I ran 10g power cable in from the battery, then split it between the passenger cig lighter and inverter.

I guess I'll have to retrace my work but I figured I'd ask if anyone knows whether anything I did yesterday that would definitely throw off the airbag/SRS circuits.

Thanks,
B

I thought about doing the ECU reset procedure to see if that clears up the condition. I figure if it the error light is flashing again after the reset there's definitely a problem, but if it clears up then maybe a sensor was thrown off while I was cutting/restoring/testing the 12v power line several times during the electrical work this weekend.

If I reset the ECU, is there anything I should know or be concerned about? Can you guys think of a reason not to do an ECU reset as part of troubleshooting?

Thanks,
Brian

Resetting the ECU won't hurt anything.

There is also a procedure to turn off the airbag light somewhere. It's pretty easy and involves switching the ignition key on and off in a certain sequence.

So it sounds like the reset won't change my reflash...

As for just disabling the flashing SRS light, shouldn't I try to figure out what's wrong if it continues to flash after the reset? Or is it just a nuisance which poses no real threat?

Thanks,
B

to turn off the airbag light i believe you had to turn the car to the "ON" mode , "thats before you start up the car" and do it several times . example is to turn it ON for like 4 secs then turn the key all the way off and it it again 2 or 3 times and the light should go away.

i had that airbag problem and thats how i turned it off, but for me my airbag sensor was actually bad and had to get a new airbag put it.

Edit.https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...t=Airbag+light

theres the link to do it haha

Yes, you should see what is causing the light to trigger.
