Sepertaing A/C from Radio

Does anyone know if its possible to seperate the A/C controls from the radio, Im planing on putting a 7" screen where stock radio is and putting an aftermarket radio where the ashtray is, It doesnt matter if the radio works or not after the a/c controls are seperated just as long as the a/c controls work.

You can't seperate the two unless you get the Double din from japan with seperate AC controller. Please read the post about double din and you get more information.

yes i know abot the a/c controls from japan but if i can avoid spend $300 that would be better , the shop where im get my install done said that most likely the 2 arent linked together on the circutboard and they could probly seperate them, I was just wondering if theres anyway this is possible

Re: Sepertaing A/C from Radio

I am not sure about this, but my gut instinct says that they both probably share a common power and ground supply. At least they would if I was designing the IC board.

Anyway, if you have luck cutting it be sure to post pics of the exact path you cut along that proved succesful.

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

I do want to keep the dual climate control. But what does this A/C controller look like? does it just replace the top of that unit that was taken out? Any links to what the contoller looks like?
