The mods don't moderate this section much.

03-04 models require the same as before when you first did your DD conversion. 05-07 models require different DD v35 parts including dash finisher, AC controller than the 03-04. The HVAC central unit is easier to diassemble...I think there is a sticky on the 05-07 conversion DIY. There hasn't been a thread (that I've seen yet) on an 08 DD conversion. The 08 models have that central nav screen unit and the area where the stock HU would look less stealth with an aftermarket HU from the Infiniti dealership brochures on the G37's.

Why did you get rid on your G? Practicality? I'm done with my AV stuff, I am planning on FI (prob. JWT TT) in spring '09. My wife says that we have to replace all my house's 16 double hung windows first before I can do anything first on my G...lol.

welcome back!

ill probably get between an 04 and an 06 model. i sold mine because i had done pretty much everything to it, i had gotten to where i was scared the motor was gonna go at any moment and i didnt need to buy a new motor. plus it was inpractical with 2 young kids. i ended up selling all the parts and the car and paid cash for my new daily driver and a toy. but i miss the platform.

So Im going to try this soon. Im planning on ordering the metra kit.http://www.installer.com/item/displa...php?it=99-7604
What do you think of this? Also I have the 6mt so are there any other steps that need to be followed in removing the dash. This dash is so complicated compared to some other cars. Im worried that Im going to screw something up. My cd player completely crashed not too long ago so I NEED an after market radio.

Is there a way to add an iPod and be able to control it right through the factory CD player? Because with the step by step above it would be a bitch to scroll through songs while driving.

You want to remove the facoty navigation and put the cubby hole and door in its place when you install the DD kit?

^ u need a DD dash kit. I don't think most dealers carry them, but Riverside Infiniti does and that's where I ordered mine. You can also get one from Grubb's Performance. Don't forget the a/c controls as well.
