My xm radio uses an FM modulator for the sound just fine.

I'm about to get a Sirius Stiletto for my car, as I can use it at the gym too. I was planning on hardwiring it and mounting it in my ashtray somehow with a dock, to keep it as clean looking as possible.

It does have a car kit that plugs into the cig adapter and uses an fm tuner, I figured the hardwired PAC would sound better, but it doesn't seem that way.

Thoughts?

In my last car, I needed to wire the FM modulator directly into the radio antenna.

In the G35, without hardwiring, the sound is cleaner than in my last car that was wired.

I guess the radio antenna is just better in this car. I get NO interferrance.

Basically, try it without hardwiring it. If it sounds good..... you're done.
