Pioneer avic z1 owner, need a little help. Pics.

I will be installing the following at F1 Motorsport in North Hollywood next week. Before I take it there, just want to know anything else I might be missing.

1. HU pioneer avic z1
2. Ipod connector
3. blue tooth
4. steering wheel control
5. ac control and jdm frame

Anyone know where I can order the Black Trim that go outside the frame? If I want to watch dvd while driving, is there a part to that?

thanks in advance.

From what I remember, the Z1 is the easy one to hack, I believe there's a grounded-wire hack on avic411... looks good so long as you have the 3 requisite parts for the DD conversion.

good luck, don't screw it up

usually to watch dvd's while driving u just ground the e-brake wire. the latest avic's tho have a built in gyro, so it'll sense you are moving and stop video. to bypass that, you have to unfold the sticker under the head unit that says "warranty void if removed" and then simply flick the switch.

negative of that is, of course, your warranty is void. I hear though there are bypass modules that are simple as plug and play, yet i have no experience witht that.

try the grounding wire first. if that doesn't work, decide whether you want to void your warranty, spend money on a bypass module, or live without driving w/ video.

Guam671, I got the pioneer for $950 used. It came with the Ipod connector. Everything else is brand new. Total is around $1400 so far.

don't forget the wire harness (e.g. Scosche NN01) and the antenna adapter. The installer might have these already but will sell them to you at marked up cost.

You should just install it yourself. I saved $500 dollar by doing it myself

no, unless you use a composite video out connection with the ipod, but you will not be able to control the ipod from the z1/z2. the limitation is not in the z1/z2, but in the pioneer ipod adapter...
