thanks tig! Does sound much, much, much , much better.

I'm just glad everything works fine esp. the AC and DCC and that I didn't scratch up anything.

joe,
nice job on the installation. i didn't care much about scratching or not, i was really impatient. I got some scratches here and there, but it is not visible.

Re: Look what $401 gets you!!!!

I just ordered the same $401 package. I have willow interior, so I am just going to "graft" the willow OEM ends onto the JDM DD console. I almost feel compelled to always answer the "How are you doing?" question he asks in every email.

G35inKC, he just needs the driver's license to verify the shipping address. You can just black out your license number.

My DIY guide for this project is done. I am waiting for it to get posted on g-owners.com since it is kind of a large file.

If anyone wants my guide, I have it in .pdf format. Just PM me and I'll email it to you.

Re: Look what $401 gets you!!!!

No solution. I contacted several importers and no dice. They don't have that part listed anywhere. So I am just going to lop off the ones I currently have and glue them onto the new double din console. The seams where the cuts were made should not be noticeable due to the design.

Re: Look what $401 gets you!!!!

Good luck in cutting and glueing. Those AC vent trim pieces are not the strongest and somewhat fragile. I almost broke one of them on my stock dash trying to remove one of the AC vents. It would be a tough dissection. I also don't know how much support you have with just glueing it. BUT, you might get some added support since the AC vent fits into the grooves of the AC vent trim piece and then latches on to 2 hook catches located on the main dash piece. I'll post a picture tonight on what I'm talking about.

Did you already look at your willow AC vent areas where you would cut?

Re: Look what $401 gets you!!!!

Are you guys talking about the black trim at the extreme edges of the dash console to the left and right of the AC vents? Are these willow in the willow interior?

OK, I was confused. I thought it was the whole AC vent bracket. If that's the case, the dissection shouldn't be that hard. Attaching it by glue would not be that strong though. Maybe you can glue those willow pieces on the AC vent itself?
Tough question. I 'll go home and look at my removed stock dash console and study to see how you could glue it. I'll take some pix and post them tonight.

Those ends circled in red, should be willow, for those with the willow/titanium combo.

Re: Look what $401 gets you!!!!

I don't know if glueing that thin of a plastic will hold. What about glueing willow pieces to ac vents? The connection between the pieces might be noticably disjointed.
