the dash is custom cut for the bose system with many holes. a standard stereo fits into just one big rectangular hole... get it now? or are you more confused?? ; )

The matched paint looks awful after 8 hours drying. Way too light. I will add another coat tonight to see if it helps.

Looks much much better when properly dry 24 hours later. However, it's not perfect. I would say 70%. Is that worth not chopping and gluing the ends... eh? dunno. I've got the 2nd coat drying. I'll probably have pics by the weekend.

hmm, what about a 3rd coat?

Do they give you a paint-code or something like that for the new colormatched paint? What did you use to match the paint? Did you take the entire console or did you just cut off the ends?

Re: Look what $401 gets you!!!!

I can give you the paint code if you really need it, but it's not perfect. I'm sure if the computer scanned the color again, it would come up with a different formula. Infiniti calls the color Sage. I think I will add a clear coat. It might make it darker and richer. One coat should be fine and not too glossy.

I just popped off the top of the steering wheel column. Just stick your fingers between that and the instrument cluster and it pops right off.

OK, clearcoat will not work on this type of paint. I still have to wet sand it. If someone else tries to go for a paint match, please let me know what paint code you get. This way we can compare.
