After working at a dealer I would buy the W6 over the W7. The W7 is very clean and an awesome sub but the W6 does a great job and takes less power and for a lower price. I have a pair of 12W6 on a 1000/1 and love it.

I've had both 12W7 and 12W6V2, and I can tell you that 12W7 is definitely amazing at lower deep bass, but you have to pay the price. Honestly, 12W7 was kinda over kill for me so I switched over to 12W6V2 which was JUST right for me... until some bastards jacke it off my old car. A$$holes.

But like I said, you won't regret with either, but I think it'll be more than enough bass with a W6.

^+1000. You can get a JL 500/1 and a 10 or even a 12W6V2 for the lower end of your budget.

I use to work at a audio shop, i know all this crap, jl w7 overated, sounds absolutely great tho, fosgate kicker get the hell outa here, all spl, no sound quality, just power bass, i suggested the Memphis Audio Mojo, look into that if you want, but if you want to stick with your 2 polls, i guess the w6?

JL 12W6v2 w/ Phoenix gold (@ ~900Watts). Cleanest thing I have ever heard... spent a lot of time w/ the custom angled box in the trunk. But you will definitely not be disappointed - perfect balance between clean sound and eyeball shaking bass.

I have a 2 month old jl 500/1 and 10w7 in a pro-wedge box currently in my closet that I might be willing to sell.
