Breakin in Subs..?
whats a good method to break in subs? i ended up blowing my first one? it was under warranty and they just replaced it. i dont wanna blow it again. also they told me to have my bass -2 and treble +4. is there a setting where i can get more bass and treble without blowing the sub? im running on an alpine w205 wit a rockford amp and sub (amp - T5002 and sub - t2 10in). i usually turn up the volume to 5 cuz im afraid of going higher and blowin it again.

If the sub was properly connected to a crossover, it doesn't matter where the treble is set. No high frequencies will be sent to the sub.
One of the car audio magazines breaks in each speaker on a sine wave generator before they test them. I think for subs, they loosen them up for about 12 hours.
I've never broken in my speakers on a bench. Many shops test the speakers as they were intended to be used inside the vehicle without breaking them in.
Distortion and heat are what usually blows speakers, so how do you have it connected? Bridged or stereo for the amp? Series or parallel for the sub?
