Auto Climate Control Problems

I have an 03 Sedan with automatic climate control. Everything about the system seems to work fine, except for the temperature setpoint function. In the winter, the heat will always be on full heat, whether I have it set to manual or auto climate control. The only way to turn off the heat is to set the system to 60F (the lowest setting). In auto mode, I've had the temperature setpoint set at 61F and the fan goes to full speed pumping out heat. I've waited 20 minutes to see if the internal temperature would eventually rise and slow the fan or turn down the heat. It never happens, it felt like Miami in August inside the car before I finally shut it off.

My guess is that the interior temperature sensor must not be working??? Does anyone know where it's located and what to check for. (I'm guessing that it must have one in order for auto climate control to work)!

Stereo, CD player, navigation, defrost, and all other center console functions seem to work just fine.

Audio Finisher Circuit Board

Thanks, but I've already read all about this problem.
I haven't read about anyone else having a problem with only auto climate control. Everyone I read about had multiple problems with the radio and a/c controls. My radio and a/c buttons work fine. All the buttons work, it's just that the heat doesn't shut off once the interior is warm. Maybe related, but not convinced!

Is there a temperature sensor on the Audio Finisher Circuit Board?

Same problem

I'm having the same problem as you on my '03 coupe. Did you find a solution. You can't just turn the auto off, cause the heat is on full unless you turn the temp to 60, then it's too chilly.

This problem is being caused by a fault in the interior temp sensor. About 9 times out of ten it is simply due to a disconnected sensor. Look at the driver-side dash near where your right knee rests. There is a small grill air intake that covers the interior temp sensor. Behind the dash is an electrical connector to this sensor. Frequently, if anyone has worked under your dash area, this sensor gets disconnected for ease of access, and then gets missed at the end of the job.

Thanks, the wire was disconnected. I've been trying to have a remote starter installed and the installer left it disconnected!!

Climate Control

It looks like you found the problem. I fixed mine as well by just plugging back in the electrical connector. But also look for the 1/2 inch hose that also connects . Both my electrical connector and the hose were disconnected. I wish all problems were such a simple fix!!
