There's no need to disconnect the battery if you don't disconnect the yellow airbag wire harness.

Re: Program Navigation While Moving DIY

here's my setup...

left side is master switch for all my aftermarket goodies (AVelectronics nav/tuner, PS2, BearCat tracker, rear DVDs, power inverter, and trunk mounted power block)

Second switch is my NAV VSS hack, to allow input while driving.

Third is the toggle switch for the nav/tuner.

Cheers, Ted

that's the switch to turn off your trunk switch so they can't open it from the driver side.

Switch it to OFF, lock your glove box and give them the valet key... no access to the trunk.

Re: Program Navigation While Moving DIY

not sure... I would not imagine so, if you splice it in. Although, I used a separate rocker switch.

Re: Program Navigation While Moving DIY

Yes it no longer allows you to lock your trunk. You have to connect the original wires for the trunk together or your trunk will be permanently locked.

Re: Program Navigation While Moving DIY

Couldn't you just splice the 2 new wires together with the existing wires of the trunk switch so that both remain operational?

Unhappy 2005 Navi Mod

I just tried to do this mod on my brand new 2005 G35X, and I don't think that the wires are the same for this model year. I spliced into the green and the white wires, and when I flip the switch, the Navi colors get all screwed up. I had to put everything back together, and thank god it still works right!!! Can someone please confirm which wires need to be spliced for the 2005 G35, and from which harness. I am not putting the glove box back on yet, and would like to get this done. Please let me know.

Thanks,
Sam
