I installed an Ungo remote start alarm myself. It's not hard and saves you a ton. I think I paid ~$175 for the parts.

Im prettys sure they are the same alarm sold to different companies.....since they are all dei.

i have the 50.5 love it. make sure to ad a piezo siren back up battery and back up battery siren, if you have rims you may want a digital tilt sensor, dont buy a dual stage motion sensor they are pointless. hood pin trunk pin are a must, while youre at it have em do trunk pop as well. good luck

does anyone have/recommend the viper 5002? the 5900's remote start will be useless for my 6mt. i know i can get the clutch bypass done but its not worth the risk to me. and it is never cold here in SA, TX.

what accessories should i get? battery backup? interior motion detector? tilt sensor (probably getting that one), glass break audio sensor (i have tint, will that affect anything?)...

DONT GET MOTION!!!!

Id do battery back up or battery back up with siren glass break sensor is good and also a piezo.

so get these dei products:
513t - dont pay more than 15 retail is 35
506t - dont pay more than 20 retail is 40
515r - dont pay more than 20 retail is 70
520t - dont pay more than 20 retail is 40
507m - dont pay more than 35 retail is 70

you can get these at online resources for dirt cheap. you can get that alarm for dirt cheap. but most places offer "basic install included".....our cars arent considered basic, so they will still charge you some. and if you bring them an alarm you bought elsewhere that is still new in box, most places wont install it or they will but rape u at the same time.

At my old job this is how a g35 would break down.

Matrixr50.5 550
keyless entry 60
Diode isolate 35
transponder 50
transponder install 60
flashing lights free
hood pin free
starter kill free
trunk pin 45
trunk pop 60
install on any extra dei products 45 each (you have 5 you want) = 225
plus cost of parts at retail is = 255

that is $1235 but if you were serious about buying we would usually give you 10% off so 1111.5 for you, ohh and plus tax

so yea it gets expensive paying retail, but you can have all 5 dei parts online for 110 bucks if you shop around. The matrix r 50.5 at my old employee cost is $198 i dunno i felt like typing so there ya go

At my shop, it would break down:

-Viper 5900 or Clifford 50.5x $425
-Keyless Entry $50
-Hood Protection Included
-Trunk Release $35
-Trunk Protection $20
-Remote Start Bypass Module $65
-Basic features such as Flashing Lights, Starter Kill Included

So a "basic" install of either alarm would run about $595.

Now I would recommend getting a glass break sensor. That about $75 installed.

Then, there are other options such as back-up battery, piezo siren, and tilt sensor.

thanks poor g35. ok so does each piezo siren need its own backup battery? does the piezo go inside the cabin or under the hood? how many backup batteries will i need if i get 2 extra piezos?

will the remote be able to raise and lower the windows without any extra accessories? i've read something about where if you arm the car and your windows are down, it will roll the windows up for you. i want this, what needs to be done?

also, does my 2007 6mt need that extra interface module? i was reading something at the shop and it was talking about how you may need an extra interface module if your car's key has its own chip and it cant communicate with the viper's brain or something? i asked the sales guy and he said they wont know that until they take my car apart and hook it up and determine that it doesnt work...

i'm getting the 5002 installed at good place (they solder and heat shrink every wire connection) for $499. that includes everything but the extra accessories. it does include keyless entry, hood protection, trunk release/protection, starter kill, etc etc.

poorg35: can you explain what the 515R is? i looked at it on ebay... does that siren not come with the standard package 5002? so the 515r is another one of those sirens with its own battery? is that correct?

ok im confused.. that list has 2 backup batteries and 2 sirens, + the siren from the main package for a total of 3 sirens. is this what you meant? the shop insists i only need one backup battery for the whole system, they dont have hte 515R in stock and seem confused as to what it is.

Wow, if they dont know what a 515r is...just wow.

Its a back up battery with siren and key. Basically if they run power to your battery and some thief cuts the power to the alarm, your alarm has no power. with the 515r it has its own battery so the siren will go off until you use the key provided to turn that particular siren off. i think it lasts for like 18+ hours.

piezo/pain siren is in the cabin, i have 2...its a 120ish db siren for the thief to hate his life.

the back up battery is for the alarm itself.

you will only need a transponder module if you do remote start(you do have a chip in the key---they should know this if they use directechs.) they may try and sell you the new modules that require programing verses losing a key(again only with remote start) they retail around 80 for these--cost is around 30.

For window up when you arm alarm i believe youll need a dei 530t, maybe a 529t. or both, i didnt sell that feature that often, so off the top of my head im not 100% sure if you need one or the other.

http://KPtechnologies.com offers something like that i believe, you would have to pm the owner KPierson and ask how it could integrate with an after market alarm.

Id recommend the 515r over any other back up battery protection, i cannot believe they have no clue about it!!

any questions feel free to post up or just pm me!
