Yea... in order to do Navi, you will need to buy the Blackbird 2 which is about $600 or you can get the stand alone Navi, NVE-872A, but that will easily add another $1000 to the price of the Blackbird.

It isn't software. It is a portable navi system that docks into the unit.

Its not software, its a Portable Nav Unit like the Garwin. Its just built to fit inside the 505 HU so that the Nav feature become one with the HU.....

W505 vs. Z2

I currently have a Z1 in another vehicle and am very familiar with it. I mainly use it for ipod and XM, but I also use the nav function occasionally and I like the bluetooth module. I'm going to putting in rear seat monitors and I know the Z2 is very flexible as far as dual zone goes. I'd like the rear seat people to be able to watch a DVD, being played by the Z2/505, and still have the option to use Nav, or play xm, ipod, etc.

I think the W505 will have a faster ipod connection, but how will the other features compare?

Thanks.
