Does having no detachable face ever worry you guys about theft at all? I would really like to do one of these units, but I'm worry about someone stealing the damn thing since my car sleeps outside.
Just suck it up and do it, or is there another solution? Moving somewhere with a garage isn't an option at the moment.
This unit looks awesome. I've owned 3 Alpine HU's in the past and loved them. I'd really like to give something like this a try, it would compliment the audio system I'm planning perfectly.

i actually got quoted for 1000 or 1100 for this unit installed in my car since i've had my w205 installed there. i got mine done at SOUNDTECH in LB, but im having problems w/ the bb2 connections and the screen display when in navi mode. Thats whats preventing me from buying the w505 bc of just that reason.

Okay I had a problem with the W205 so it is being sent in and I am getting the W505. The car stereo guy is getting it to me for $800 installed. When I get the 205 back from Alpine I will have it installed in my 4-runner. By the way there is a new Bluetooth module from Alpine. They are going to swap the old useless one for the new one. I will post back to see if the new unit eliminates that feedback that people say they get when I use the current Alpine Bluetooth.

got mine installed everything went great.. Video from the Ipod looks great, and swapped out the bluetooth. I was told there is a new bluetooth module. BT350? Anyways I get get home and put it on my Sirius. No sound.. I get the channels on the W505 but no sound. I was busy on Saturday so I will have to try and take it back next week to get it figured out.
