speakers/amp
Im looking for a set of speakers and i think im between infinity kappas/mb quarts or diamond audios... I am planning on replacing my stock headunit with a kenwood 8019 and i plan on replacing the stock amp too... What amp should i get if i plan on adding on a 10w6 later? Do i need spacers if i am replacing the amp? How easy will it be to have to car returned to stock for trade in?
Thanks,
Jon

its not worth changing it back to stock in my opinion.
it depends on who installs it and how they do the bose amp bypass if you can even put it back to stock.
if i got a w6 id get a 500/1 jl amp. id also probably get a 4chan amp too. you could buy both matching amps around 500-600 used for both.
id buy kappas. or focal 165v2

I've been doing a ton of research trying to find the right components on a budget. Everyone on this forum seems to like the kappa's for the price.
The guys over at the car audio forums are all raving about the pheonix gold rsd's that only cost $87. Some say they are on par with $400+ comps and all of them seem to agree that nothing under $250 beats them. So I ordered a pair.
Here's a couple links:

As for amps, Jl is hugely popular but alot of the guys in the car audio forums say they are overpriced. Kicker seems to be a popular choice.
I also noticed that alot of these guys are running 120-150 watts to each component. The pg 6.5 rsd's are only rated at 60 watts but people are running at over twice that and love it. The advice they gave me was to forget about the rear and focus all the power up front. I was originally gonna run 60 watts to all four off a 4ch amp, but now I'm gonna bridge it and do 120 up front and run the rears off the head unit. This is supposedly the ticket, I'll find out soon.

A JL 500/5 works fine with front components, rear side coaxials, and a 10w6 in a 4080 enclosure. I had that combination for about a year and it was plenty of bass, despite being a little underpowered on paper.
