So I went on vacation to Michigan with a few of my buddies to go snowmobiling. While there one of them had an accident and had to be medivacted out. Hes fine but when we called 911 we had no idea where we were. Well after we picked him up from the hospital and on our way home we got lost and ended up taking the really long way home. So the next day I decided to buy a gps unit so hopefully if this ever happens ill know where I am. So I decided on a Garmin nuvi 760. I ended up puting it in the nav cubbi. I velcroed it in there and can open and close it without removing it. It also turns on and off with the car since I tapped the power into the dash lighter. I had to cut the lid to mount it because you have to put a bracket on the back to power it. I was gonna go with a DD navi but this way I can always have it with me and its suppose to run for 5 hrs on the battery. So anyways heres some of the pics .

let me know what ya think. I know this has been done before but I thought I would post a few of my own picks up.

Might be one of the nicest cheaper alternatives to a DD that I have seen. Looks really clean and I like the fact that you tapped into the lighter for power. I really like, but get a DD also

I just cut the back of the door . The part that you would velcro the navi to. I just took the cubby out then I took the door off and then took it apart. There are 4 screws on the inside of the door that hold it together. I can take more pics of the door if ya need me to.
I went and tackled this project this weekend and it came out great. I didn't even end up cutting anything. Just a small hole in the cubby to put the wire through to connect to my Garmin. All I used was some strong velcro and it worked better than I could have imagined. I can even close it and it will look like it's not there. If anyone is interested I will snap a few pics and throw them up here. THanks for the idea buckeye
