Yeah i dont have the skills or tools to build one. Are Alipnes;s r known for performing better when in a ported box?

 

Anyone know if there is a place to get boxes similar to the 4080's but cheaper? Say in the low $200's?

 

I've seen an individual selling boxes similar to the 4080 but you really don't save anything. I would suggest getting either a used 480 which you can generally pick up for a little less than the new ones (about 250 shipped or so). Just check out the marketplace; they usually have 1 or 2 of them for sale at any given time.

 

Or get a new 4080 without the grill option, that puts you in the mid-200's with the group buy going on now, and a quality enclosure from a reliable builder.

I have two 10" type r's in a zenclosure. For me it sounds fine, but i know im not getting the best performance out of the speakers....but its loud enough for me
