Boston system in coupe with stock hu

I want to install the following setup on my car but this will be my first solo project. Can you guys help fill in what I will be missing

Boston Pro60 component set for the front
Boston SX65 for the filler
Boston SL95 16x9 for the rear
JL audio 10w6 in 4080 box
JL 300/4
JL 500/1

I know i have the main components down but will this power all the speakers?
and what cables do i need to get to pull this off?

Personally, I would get rid of the rear 6x9's. Use that to act as a port to get bass in the cabin.

In the Bose system, the 6x9s are the subwoofers. you don't need 6x9s AND the 6.5's in the rear sides. Removing the 6x9s allows more bass to enter the cabin.

thanks that makes sense I will rethink the speaker set up in the rear.

I wanted to know if i needed to rewire the car or if the existing wiring would work with a different amp and speakers wile keeping the stock hu?

I use the stock speaker wires to the front. It's no easy task running new wires through the molex connectors into the front doors. But plenty of people have run new speaker wires to the doors.

Bostons aren't usually the most efficient speakers and usually need more power than other speakers of the same size. They sound good though. I don't know that the Bose amp would be able to provide enough wattage to them to make them sound good.

Gilley i saw you post this in another thread and i was curious as to what you would recommend that sounded as nice ?

and if i can power the setuo i mentioned before with that amp combo

Sound like a good setup. I would change a couple things, as some in this thread have mentioned -- ditch the SX65 and the SL95 for the rear fill. The Boston Pro 60's love power, and they will get plenty loud enough to fill your sound stage, you won't miss your rear fill.

The JL 300/4 should be perfect for powering the Pro 60 component set. Bridge the amp to provide 150W per channel and you're set.

What has you sold on the JL amps? Would you look into other options? Just curious

not hooked on the JL amps .. but i know they are pretty decent amps as far as the sub goes im pretty set on the 500/1 since its a class d for the rest of audio im open to suggestions.

as far as the sound the sx65's should only take 30 watts each if im not mistaken.

the pro 60 are 125 RMS ....... I cant find ANYWERE that specifies if its each or both at 125 anyone know ?

Well, I don't know your budget -- but if you want something really nice, look into the Zapco reference series amplifiers ... the reference series shouldn't be that much more than the JL's. And Zapco blows JL out of the water,IMO.

A couple other brands I prefer over JL are Audison and US Amps --- and I actually even prefer Memphis over them. That's about it.

The Pro 60's are rated for 125W RMS per side. I've seen one guy run 180W RMS per side (actually had a zapco amp), and another provide 200W per side without any problems. These speakers will eat up power, and they will handle it as long as the power is "clean."

I like BAs and have used them for years (I havethem in my sedan), but they should be used them with an external amp when used with the Bose system. 3 ohm and 4 ohm speakers of any brand aren't going to allow the Bose amp to produce as much volume as the stock 2 ohm speakers. That's what my other comment was about.

Thanks Gilley, I haven't actually been able to test out the speakers i work 50+ hours a week and go to school full time i don't have much time for anything. I am actually going mostly off past knowledge and advice, I wasn't sure if these were the right speakers or if i should use something else.

I was considering the MB Quart top set i forgot the model ... but i decided on the pro 60 and placed and order for a pair this morning for $210.00.

what I am really worried about now is getting my stock HU to have SQ. I don't want to get a different HU at least at the moment anyone have any recommendations on how to improve that signal ?

I went with Infinity kappa's front and rear, no 6x9's and a 10" Boston pro in the trunk...

I am not sure the stock amp will give you enough Power for the Boston Pro's in the front. NOT to mention the mounting depth on the Pro's may give you some fitment issues. Especially if this is your first attempt... AND if you go that far, I would definatly Dynamat your interior.... That was one of my first projectso n my G. It was worth every hour and dollar it took.
