installed in their g35 coupe? This would be too sweet if this dvd receiver would mount flush using the double din dash kit.

It's been sitting in my room for a couple weeks, waiting for the double din to arrive before installing it. I'll post a picture once I get it done.

So by not fitting flush do you mean that it is too deep to be mounted without sticking out, or that the double din opening is too big and leaves gaps around the edges? Do you have any pics you could post of how it fits in there? I really wanna get the DDX-7015 and was hoping it would look good with the double din conversion.

If you check www.my350z.com, lots of people have it installed. It looks like it's smaller than the standard double din size so you'll have a gap.

This is StreetRyde35's install.

There is a gap around the outer edges and the receiver does stick out a little bit. I will try to get some side shots.

Thanks for the pic. That looks pretty good actually. I think it looks a little better than they do in a Z since they have a bigger gap around the edges. Does this install have the trim plate installed? Kinda hard to tell from the pic. Would like to see the side view pics if you get a chance to post em.

The trim plate did not fit. Its too big to squeeze in between the dash and the deck. I even tried cutting pieces out around the plastic of the trim. I think StreetRydeG35 is going to get something fabricated to go around it.

im sure you can go to any decent installer and they will fabricate something for you for about $100... it will look perfect.

Re: anyone got the double din Kenwood Excelon DDX7015
The pic above IS a G35. To install it you need to do the double-din conversion that has been discussed frequently on this board. It's about $400 worth of parts to replace the factory dash with one that has a standard double-din opening. And for this particular radio it sounds like we'll have to make a custom trim plate to cover the gap that's left over. I think I'm going to order my DDX-7015 as soon as I get my double din parts in.
