05 SEDAN and 60.7cs Kappa's

Now I've seen talk about installing these speakers in the front doors all over this forum, but I've only noticed coupe owners doing it. Crutchfield says these will not fit in the front door, but will for the Coupe. The mounting depth needed for these speakers is listed at 1 15/16", but a similar pair of components that need a bit over 2" list as fitting. Can any SEDAN owners verify that these will fit? I chatted with a Crutchfield rep and this is what he said, which kind of confused me more:

Agent (Troy.): "The factory grilles will be too shallow for them to fit over the Infinitys in the front."
Agent (Troy.): "You have .45 of clearance and the Infinity need .695."
Agent (Troy.): "You will have to raise that grille in some fashion for these to fit correctly."
Rob: "i see, so i DO have enough room in the door, just have to mod a little bit?"
Agent (Troy.): "Sure, the speaker will fit fine, it is just when you put the grilles back over the speakers, you will have issues then."

The factory grilles are part of the door, so I don't see how I'm going to 'raise' the door. If I can't verify that these fit, I have to go with the 5 1/4" set, which I'd rather not.

These will fit, we've installed them with no problems. great choice if you have a bose HU since the speakers are 2 ohm like the factory's. I use them in my 04 sedan.

Get the wood inch spacers on ebay. They will allow them to fit and make for a better installation. You need a 5 inch center hole for the Infinity speakers. There are 2 dealers on ebay, search G35 speakers or spacer. The $14.99 guy has 3/4 inch thick spacers with one hole size, 5.4 inches and no hardware. The $20 guy has 1 inch thick spacers, a selection of hole sizes and provides screws to install them in the door. You then drill holes for your speaker screws into the wood spacer.

Thanks everyone! This certainly clears up the confusion. And this will certainly help clear up that little sound problem that I have in my car (crappy Bose).

Now if I can just get the JDM kit, and make a decision between the Pioneer AVH-4000 or AVH-6000 (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...e/AV-Receivers) I'll be good to go.
