Stereo Finally Finished!
Just finished up my stereo and am very pleased with the way it came out. (Excuse the crappy cell phone pics, I'll replace them with REAL camera pictures when its light out) but here is the finished product.
My stereo consists of:
Kenwood 1000watt Class-D amp
2 Alpine Type R 10's.
RCA converter to run the stock (crappy) headunit
Custom box and false panel cover
Beginning...

Middle...

End...

Thanks!

Our front door speakers are made in Mexico, definitely do not look like anything Bose would ever make. Our tweeters have a tiny itty bitty magnet, they sort of look like something a kid would make in a science project.
Not trying to HJ the thead but, why does everyone focus on subwoofers in the trunk, when nearly 75% of the sound we hear comes from our front speakers?

But thats the thing...I understand where you're coming from dealing with sound and the front speakers...but the BOSE sound system, I feel, doesn't provide ample bass (and when you do crank up the bass on the complete stock system, it starts to distort badly at the higher volume numbers).
This is why I chose to put 2 10's in the rear. I dialed the amp in where the bass setting on the stock HU is at -5 and the bass sounds good (aka, all of my bass is coming from my subs and they hit hard when the stock HU is set at -5). And when I feel like turning the bass up, I have a range of 10 units to go (from -5 all the way to +5 if I want).
So I ask you this, do a test for me. Go out to your car (and I'm hoping you have the BOSE system in your car for this) and turn the treble setting up all the way, and the bass setting all the way down to -5. NOW, turn your volume up and tell me when it starts to sound like ****. It should most likely go all the way to roughly 25-27 before it starts to either just get too loud, or maybe starts to distort. Now imagine having the treble stay clean sounding like it does at volume 19 or 20, and all of your bass is coming from the subs. You have a clean sounding system IMHO. But that is just me, I don't know what sound you are looking for in a completely stock system. I think my system with stock speakers and aftermarket subs, sounds cleaner than some cars with completely aftermarket EVERYTHING. Its all in the tuning of the system if you ask me. But to each his or her own...
Thanks for the compliments guys!

If I remember, I'll try to take some decent pictures with a real camera today instead of using my cellphone.
