Where to buy PLEXI??

Where is the best type of place to buy plexiglass?

The local home depot only has 1/8" thick plexi.

What should the thickness be for a sub enclosure?

plexiglass for sub enclosure?? You sure you're not thinking of fiberglass.

Hey, I could be wrong, but I doubt plexi is the ideal material for a sub enclosure.

Re: Where to buy PLEXI??

plexiglass is used for making a little window in the sub enclosure.... also known as "bandpass".... its not the best way to go, but it looks cool sometimes.

Re: Where to buy PLEXI??

Altough I have no clue where to get plexi that thick, I have seen some very nice sub enclosures made from it.

yellow pages under plastic, usually have an "plastic depo" or "tap pastic" around...not sure about the thickness, that will depend on size of the enclosure, its the whole box or just one side...ect. and size of the sub too, and how loud will it get, but i think at least 1/2 inch ... s.w.

Re: Where to buy PLEXI??

you need at least 1/2 inch plexi, 1/8 maybe a little too thin it may flex when the bass hits

1/8 inch is definitely too thin. I've seen it and it ain't pretty.

wow, my apologies, never would have thought that plexi would have been been good to make a sub enclosure.

Re: Where to buy PLEXI??

I saw an eclosure in a durango, no seams, rounded edges, very nice. I think the guy said it was 3/4" thick. I was truely impressed, but it cost some ungodly amount of like $600 or something.

Re: Where to buy PLEXI??

damn 3/4" plexi thats heavy as sh*t, it must of been over 100 lbs for the box alone, at least it would give someone a challenge if they were gonna try to steal it
