Anybody with the Non Bose put speakers in the back? Not Subs

My 12 inch sub days are over. I'm not into all that anymore I just want some really good 8's or 6 x9's. To round off the sound in my car. For some reason the only rear speakers are in the door and you can't hear anything in the rear. Has anybody done this? I have a Pioneer Avic Z1 already installed.

Did your read the FAQ at the top of the page???

Rear door speakers in your sedan are 6.5". I know JL makes 6.5" subwoofers.
If you don't want a box in the trunk your other option is to get the rear deck from a Bose car with the grille and add a free air 8" sub in the rear deck. The hole is there but your rear deck is solid where the bose cars have an 8" sub and grille. I added the rear deck to my non-bose car so there was a better vent from the trunk into the car for my 12's.

I just got the rear deck part, not any of the stereo. I think I paid ~$50 from a salvage yard.

I've got the bose system with the 8" sub at the back..is it as easy as sourcing another aftermarket 8" sub and just drop it in as a replacement to the OEM one?

No.
If you want to replace your bose sub you will also want to upgrade the amplifier for it. You also need to look for a free air sub that is made to work without an enclosure up there.

Another option is a 10 or 12 inch enclosure from www.4080enclosures.com. Having a sub doesn't mean you have to rattle every house in the neighborhood.

+1 w/Gilley

4080 with a JL sub/amp sounds perfect for most folks. Plus, it's nice to be able to fit luggage in the trunk when needed.
