This looks prettier.

Hey Rick,

So you have no idea when you'll get them back in stock? Is it necessary to pre-order them?

Hook a fellow GREEN member up.

yes it does... I was never a huge fan of 6.1"-6.5" dd's in a G. 7" is the way to go. Fills the hole much nicer.

I myself will be going with the Alpine IVA-W505 with the Blackbird add-on.

I suggest to preorder to be honest, we have a crap load of preorders on my bulletin board here, first ones to come in already have names on them. We will not bill you until they are here and we call and confirm the order. We're not sure how many to be exact will arrive or an exact ETA so we have to say 1 or 2 months.

That sounds expensive.

Question:

Are there two JDM DD conversion kits? One for OEM Navi & one for w/out OEM Navi?

I think I'll just pick this one up...

Im also getting the HD tuner and Bluetooth setup. Oh yea, Alpine sound processor. Retail including all the add-ons (JDM DD kit, etc) will put me at around $2500, but I manage a car audio store so I am doing an Alpine employee purchase.

My old 7" screen kenwood, before I traded for the AVIC D3, a bit smaller, but nice unit all in all.

Only one kit that works for both, I suggest you jump on that used kit before someone swipes it.

You should hook me up with the Eclipse unit when I come to NorCal this July. I'll be in San Fransisco, too!

I just send a PM to that Sbeck guy.. Crossing my fingers/hoping that it's $275 shipped.

get the kenwood dnx-7100. its last years model so it should be cheaper, which allows you to get the accessories for ipod input and bluetooth and be near your budget. it has a bigger screen than the 5120 and is VERY user friendly. the sound isnt as loud, but i learned its because of some pac thing i have connected to it to keep use of the stock amp. i think if you rewire your speakers to the HU itself then youd be fine. or get a new amp.

sfgr415,

you seem to be the man with the answers, lol.

avn5510 versus avn6620 versus dnx7100

Can each of these be had for <~$900? And of the three, which is the "best" for the price (I'm not necessarily asking which one is the best of the three, but rather which is the best for the price - that is, given the requirements I've listed).

Cal...

Retail on the 6620 is $1200. I am sure you can find some online for less, but they will not be from authorized retailers. As for the 5510, it is a 2007 model like the DNX7100 so you will probably only be able to find it online. I am sure you can get the 5510 for under $900.

As for the DNX7100, it was one of my favorite models last year. Great Garmin Navi built in like all other Kenwoods (talk about easy to use Navi functions). It is a full 7 inches and has a real good Ipod adapter.

You will also be able to listen to your music while watching navi/dvd. You can get those online for pretty cheap too (under $900).

Between the 3, I would get the DNX7100 first, then the 6620 and last, the 5510.
