Question Leaving the stock head unit?

I'm a total newb when it comes to car audio and I've never had any experience with it so I apologize if my question seems foolish, but I was wondering if anyone here has kept their factory head unit and just added a sub or two.

The way I understand it is I may need some kind of wire harness to make the fit?

Does the harness hook into the back of the unit?

Folks are doing that on what seems like a daily basis here. I went with aftermarket because I wanted more from my stereo. Of course, this involves getting the dash kit which you might find for cheap on the Marketplace here. You can easily add a sub and have good sound quality. Look here....

This depends if you have Bose or not. It's not that much differnce but it gives you ideas. Good luck.

That would be nice if they did.

I suppose that would have helped. My mistake.

Apparently I don't have the ability to delete this thread either so if a mod would that would be cool.

Thanks for the links though as well.
