You don't need a LOC with the Bose amp. Tap into the audio signal before it enters the Bose amp.

You should listen to them and tap into the signal before it enters the bose amp. IF you want to use a LOC for some reason, you should just tap into the signal as it is leaving the amp going to the speakers.

Can we take the wires completely out of the Bose amp? What kind of terminals are in there? Anybody take, for instance, the sub output signal lines coming from the HU and terminate them with RCA's and then plug it into their aftermarket amp's low voltage non-line-level inputs? What about for the loudspeakers? Anybody do that? Who's installed aftermarket speakers with their stock Bose HU? Did the sound improve? Might an aftermarket amp for the loudspeakers with the stock head unit and aftermarket loudspeakers sound even better? I know there are threads on this. But I want you guys' opinions. Where and how did you mount your aftermarket amp(s)? BTW, all these questions are for the sedan. I got a 2004 with Bose.

there are no sub outputs from the HU into the Bose amp. The HU outputs 2 front and 2 rear channels. The Bose amp adds 2 bass channels and sends that signal to the 6x9s.

you can tap into the front and/or rear channels coming out of the HU and feed the signal into an amp and then to aftermarket speakers.

So from whence doth the Bose sub get its signal? And can you elaborate on how the Bose amp adds 2 bass channels and sends that signal to the 6X9s? The 6X9s get a front channel signal each and then a bass signal each as well? Are they like DVCs or something? Do the tweeters get those two front outputs? I thought their signals came from taps from the front loudspeaker signals. I'm kinda confused.

4 channels go into the Bose amp. 5 channels (maybe 6 in the coupe if the 6x9's are stereo) come out of the Bose amp. I don't know how the Bose amp divides the signal, but that's what happens.

The signals for the front door tweeters come from the front speakers.
