Looks great. Have to bust on ya' just a bit, though. Anyone who has $8,000 invested in their vehicle should have their radar detector hard wired!

Fantastic setup, Sir!

Sting_G35Coupe, I thought the SAME thing when I saw those pics! haha

plus a radar detector so low isn't as good for detecting, but let's not start a controversy over that, hehe.

Re: What $4000 will do to the ride!

Well, as for the radar detector being hardwired. It would be a piece of cake. I guess I could have taken it out for the pic. Didn't figure someone would bust my ***** on that. ROFL. REASON: I have multiple cars so it is easy to switch it to the other ride. =)

cloudkid:
Does your radar detector work well mounted all the way on the left side like that? Doesn't the Escort scan for radar behind you too?

black/graphite g35c 6mt premium aero splashguards ~ on lease, so no aftermarket goodies =(

Re: What $4000 will do to the ride!

It works great. I have mounted radars all over the car over the years. I have found that it is a good spot for it. Especially since we drive on the right hand side of the road in the U.S. Over hills, etc it is best to mount it as high as possible though. I generally do not run into that problem much. My 11 speeding tickets over the years have all come from "traps". Meaning I am by my lonesome doing 100 or so and I get zapped. Usually I save about 10-15mph when slamming on the brakes as hard as possible when I get hit by X, Ka, K band. Laser is always worse. Usually only drop about 5-10mph. Now I have no Ferrari, so their is no telling if I had some real awesome brakes how fast I could slow down. I probably would have thrown myself through the front windshield by now. lol. They always have said, "Yea', I saw your front end drop to the ground". Anyways.. It is not a bad spot for it. I have had good luck with the spot.

Re: What $4000 will do to the ride!

Hmmm..... 11 tickets with it mounted on the front left. Can I have some of that lucky spot. I only use mine on long trips and I have gotten one ticket (in Dec last year) since 1995.... and that was in a rental car of all things. I even use a BEL radar detector I bought in 1996 or so... but it still works great - it catches everything.

Back to my original question - 11 tickets, and you call that lucky??? Dang man - I have set my standards toooo low!

Re: What $4000 will do to the ride!

--Bamadog. I guess you have set your standards too low. If you read my post, I have mounted my radar detector over the years "all over the car". Not all 11 of them came from where I mounted it. Sometimes my radio was so damn loud it was worthless if I had one or not. lol. I guess I was a born speed demon. It has been about 17 years since my last one though. "knock on wood".

I'm not worthy - I'm not worthy - I'm not worthy... My bad hoss. I thought you got them all with the RD in the 10:00 position. In any case, be careful, and yes, knock that wood hard buddy.

Speaking of tickets, a friend of mine got his G about 2-3 weeks before me and he has already gotten 2 tickets. He's like - what the crap??? lol What sux is that you can be doing 80 and it feels like 55-60. Just gotta be careful. The BEST detector is the human senses, fo sho. Lata............
