If it is, I need to tap into it.

BTW - I agree with the comments about Bose - they are way over-rated (home audio too)...
The Bose equipped cars have a different wire harness than the non-Bose cars, so the non-Bose cars are not prewired for a sub. Similarly, the non-navi cars are not prewired for a plug and play navi.

ok, here are the wiring diagrams from 03-04 Service Manual for BASE (non-BOSE) model. Doesn't look like it is pre-wired for Sub addition...

Looks like it is wired just for fronts and rears...

hope this helps...

But, when I get back to my HD @ work tomorrow morning, I will check the wiring diagram for the non-Premium system in the Service Manual and see if there are wires for the rear shelf. I doubt it though.......

I'll let you know tomorrow....

thanks doc... I didnt think so, thats why I wired to the defroster... I thought possibly the factory might pre-wire for add-on option (so dealer doent have to run wire)... thanks for the reply.

I have a 05 coupe and plan on a DD conversion with the new pioneer F900BT head unit. Prob is I need the trunk space so can't put in a sub. Any suggestions on good replacement speakers/amp combo that will preserve the stock look otherwise. Thanks!

I really like Scan Speak Revelator mids. The Zapco CK components are great as well. Might want to consider doing some kick panels. Or, use a shallow mount subwoofer in the trunk (or even something that requires minimal air space, like a Soundsplinter RL-i), or put a subwoofer where the sub from the Bose sub goes in the rear deck.

Check out the enclosures from www.4080enclosures.com. They take up very little space.

Your on crack. The stock "upgraded" Infinity sound system in my Hyundai Tiburon was vastly superior to the "upgraded" Bose **** in my G35 coupe. Everything from the HU, AMP, speakers and rear "subs" on my G35 is ****. I hate the audio so much I wish I didn't buy the car. Nissan/Infiniti won't get another cent from me until they commit to a different audio manufacturer.

If you really, truly believe that Bose audio is the peak of stock stereo systems then you really must test drive a BMW, Audi, Mercedes or Jag. Most will have B&O, HK, Infiniti or some other reputable sound manufacturer that isn't strictly an advertising company (BOSE!). I actually think the stereo in the new Hyundai Genesis coupe "premium" is pretty good and light years ahead of any Bose audio I've heard.

Always remember: "No highs? No lows? Must be Bose" (Blows works too).
