For the OP, what Orion subs are they? I used to have the H2, fairly decent woofer. I'd recommend the orion 2500d, pretty good amp. The Hifonics and Power Acoustik would be another amp to consider if you're on a budget. I'd also recommend the RF Power series amps...they are quite solid and will put out more power than rated rms. I'd pass on Kicker amps from experience, they tend to get hot quite fast.

wasnt a legal thing, it was in my buddies shop, i know nothing about SPL and all that stuff, i was purely building an SQL car on a budget. I believe the meter was in the bottom corner of my passenger side? It looked like a mic. i broke 2 trunk locks on that car and put dents in it as well from all the pressure. it got fuggin loud, you could barely breathe inside the car if u put on a bass sweep or any loud music for that matter

Hmmm, would love to have heard it. Legal reading is using the TL (term-lab) with car off, windows up, doors closed, on the windshield. I think the loudest I've done is around mid 140's but never got the setup metered, just going by ear based on the setup I had before that. Also, the mic the TL uses doesn't really look like a mic, more like a rectangle.
I used to be into the loud bass thing, but then I starting liking getting loud at low frequencies. Like around 32 Hz, pretty crazy what it would do. I'd be parked on the street and the bass itself did not get loud, but shook things inside and out the car, like my neighbor's garage door 50 ft. away, lol. I truly loved the thing at 14 Hz notes, my windows would move about 1" or so. There was no sound, just resonating panels. Would love to have finished my setup...was gonna do 4 Alpine PDX 1.1000's on a single 18, but then I got in an accident and now I got a G
Those ID Max's get freaking loud though, heard them in a couple setups.
