Nice DD, I am having problems with my AC too as well as my stereo. The lights on the controller aren't working, I can't turn it on or off or adjust the temp. setting and the stereo also. I can't control my AC, it just comes on automatically with the last setting temperature. As for my radio it doesn't work but the sterring wheel control does if i can guess the right station. Could the in cabin sensor be the problem? Let me know anyone.

its definatetly not the sensor, its your factory HU and or circuit board. do a search, you'll find plenty of threads on this.

the problem you are having is the same problem i had, this double din unit was how i fixed the problem. two other options besides going w/ an aftermarket HU, 1) take it to the dealer and have them charge you an arm n leg for diagnosis and replacement of the parts, 2) find someone who can refurbish your factory HU. here's a site to one www.shortcircuitrepair.com

To Nismo714:

Looks like we have same interrior color, were you disappointed with the color match on the 2din mount. Pics look like the replacement is much lighter than origional color.

I just did a DD install on my gf 03 g35 and the temperature would not go up or down. I called Metra and they said sometimes the ship kits with jumpers on them. you need to take the back cover off the HVAC controls on the 99-7604 kit and make sure there are no jumpers on the left side option 1,2, or 3. this may not help anyone already listed on this thread but it may help someone in the near future. I received 2 kits within 2 weeks that had this same thing

The jumpers are located behind the black plastic covering on the back side of the metra kit covering the HVAC controls. i believe its 4 small screws and it will pop off and you will immediately see the circuit board. on the side nearest the passenger you will see the options and the jumpers. they are little black pieces on the connectors.

gotcha, but what's a "HEAVY HVAC unit" ??? :-/ gonna look for the in-cabin sensor also

When I turn my AC on, the sensor shows it's pointed at my feet, and any adjustments i make force it into "manual" instead of auto, even changing it to point at my face

Damn I wish my problem was the in cabin sensor Everything was hooked up fine and it still is blowing out cold air on the left side while the right side works great and sends out hot air.

2. The AC controller harness - this tends to be the problem more of the time IMO. When you are doing your dash disassembly, when you pull out your HEAVY HVAC unit, you have to disconnect the power, CD changer, speaker, AC controller harness.

The AC controller harness is pretty tricky. There are 2 tiny retaining clips that hold that main AC controller harness to the stock harness. Be very careful with these!!! When reconnecting the AC controller harness, if it is not inserted and reconnected with those 2 tiny retaining clips, the AC will also malfunction.
I didn't see these clips. The plugs did snap into the slots and my climate control is still acting up!
