I just got a DD installed and as soon as I turned my fan up it was blowing hot, hot air... and of course- as many of you are expecting... changing the temperature did very little- if anything. So sure enough, I had this thread in the back of my mind and knew almost straight away where to go. Unfortunately, I've had to leave for work and the car is 9 hours away

I'm assuming this can be a potential problem with the 06 Coupe? I should add that all the displays work and can be changed (though with no effect).

If I recall correctly, your temperature sensor is probably not plugged in. I'll see if I can find the relevant posts.

https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...diy-guide.html

#1: (most common) you didn't reconnect the AC harnesses on the HVAC unit and dash side perfectly and correctly. Remember, the AC harness has those little brittle clips on the top and bottom of the harness that you have to remove and then reconnect carefully.

#2: You accidently (or maybe intentionally) disconnected or jarred loose the "in-cabin temperature sensor". This sensor is located behind that little 2x1" grill located near your right knee when you sit in the driver seat. You need to make sure this sensor wire was not jarred loose and is connected properly.

#3: you completely screwed the pooch and fried the AC controller circuit board when you attempted the dual climate control button resolder.
I have never heard of this done but I guess it is possible.

I pulled out my HU to try to fix the Navigation to try to get it to stay up. Anyways, my A/C stopped working right after I put it back together. Glad to see there is something I could check to find out what happened. I thought it might have blead the freon out since it was during the cold months when I wasn't using it.

Thumbs up

All fixed. Glad to say that the issue was in fact the disconnected plug underneath the stearing column. A testiment to this forum, I brought the tech guy who was working on it here to let him read the thread... and he went straight to it and found it in 10 seconds. Sure enough, disconnected. Once he reconnected it, worked like a charm. Awesome!

Thanks again to everyone who has contributed to this area and helped SO MANY solve this minor oversight.

I just did my DD install with an aftermarket stereo. I included the stock Nav. However the AC/HEATER wont even turn on and the car wont let me put it into gear. Once I use the bypass on the gear selector ( automatic not standard) I notice the NAV is not tracking my current location almost like it thinks the car not moving at all. Further more the cruise control doesnt work either. Now all of this did work before I did the install. I am thinking I may have arched the wiring harness that the climate control plugs into. Since so many problems came up all at the same time and most of them have nothing to do with one another I think I may need a new CPU. Any thoughts or input would be great.

Check the fuses? Both under the hood and under the dash.
This many strange happenings seems a likely fuse issue, or you grounded something improperly.

If there's no fuses bad, completely remove the headunit and see if the shifting problem still exists. Perhaps you jammed the shift interlock cable up with excess cables from the headunit replacement? With the center console off, check and see if everything moves with you apply the brake, push the shifter button and turn the key.

Has the NAV started tracking your location any better since you originally posted?

Do you have the center console installed again, or is it removed so you can use the shift lock disengage easier?

Im having the EXACT same Problem. Im about to just order another kit.

yeah the same thing happened to me so i thought it was the controller on the dash kit but it was just the hose and clip on the knee panel were not reconnected. I wasted two hours trying to figure out what was wrong with the controller and it was just a simple fix that should have taken about 3 minutes tops.

Got a 2003 g35 coupe and had it for 4 yours now. last year, there were some intermittent times when the a/c and radio went nuts as described by others. It didn't happen again until 3 days ago and the a/c is definitely just blasting away nonstop with no end now. I am considering the Pioneer P8000BT with the Metra 997604 gray kit, and installing these with the Metra 70-7551 harness because it has the rca plugs and i want to keep the stock amplifier, and then plan to use the PW SWI PSV1 for radio control. I don't see any info where I would need to purchase an antenna kit. Please chime in on this install and choice of components. Thanks.

The only thing I can recommend. Is anything but pioneer. I would choose a Kenwood anytime over a pioneer. The pioneer sounds way to thin, kind of transparent and very very thin. I have been designing audio systems for over 15 years and will Never use a pioneer!
