hehe,
I got a copy of the latest software from my dealer (good salesman) who hooked me up. I have a an extra disc now from my 2003.5 (I think it was 6.2 or 6.1 ??)... eBay ?

Eek, DVD compression utilities ain't garna work. It's a DVD-ROM, not a movie that you can just compress away the quality and expect it to work properly.

Without the dual layer burner, you'd most likely need to figure out the file system, and then burn a disc without the maps for certain regions of the country that you know you'll never visit.

I dont think 6.1 would much to any one since most of the 2003 models come with not to mention its a little out date and it shows stores that are not there any more.

I think trying Ebay once in a while would eventually turn up something!

Also, I was thinking maybe you could claim since the DVD is always in the drive it was damaged due to heat or something and ask them for a replacement?

I mean seriously I never though about this, what if your DVD gets damaged, which is EASY in SoCal summers, then what? I have to fork out 185 bucks?!!! Or they could supply you with one under warranty or at a reduced price as long as you are under warranty?

Any ideas?
