my battery voltage is below 10 volts :(

sigh, i think i found the cause for one of my amps not to go on and my system kinda acting funny, i drained my battery completely a few days ago, and while playing my music pretty loud, my jl 300/4 cuts off, my jl 500/1 was still on... i tried again to see if it would turn on, but the green light stays on for a second and dies right away, the next morning upon startin my car up, it did the same thing, the green light goes on and goes right off, but my other amp stays on...

but anyhow i tried swapping my jl 300/4 amp out to my alpine amp, when i turned it on, the red light was flashing, so i checked my manual to see wut that means, and it says that means my battery voltage is poor and under 10v... so i guess im still in luck with my jl 300/4 amp and that its not damaged, just my battery...

now how do i fix this problem? shouldnt the battery be charged back up by now? sigh please help me someone...

If your voltage is under 10 volts most likely your car wouldn't start! Check the voltage AT the amps. If it is below 10 volts check and make sure your ground is solid. If the ground wire came loose your voltage at the amp will drop considerably. Draining the battery down the way you did shouldn't hurt it permanently. To deep cycle a battery you have to completely drain it (leaving a small light, like the dome light on is a good way).

is there a way i can TEST my amp to see if it gets power? can i connect it directly to the battle to see if the leds go on?

if so, how would i do this? take the remote wire from the amp and touch the positive terminal on the battery?

Go to the store and buy a $5.00 volt meter, not a light, an actual meter. If there is a problem with the wiring for one of your amps, swapping the amps could blow up the other one too. If the battery voltage is 10 volts even after you have started the car and let it run awhile, you have battery/alternator problems. Better yet, take your car to a reputable shop.
