Question regarding the Tweeter Housing

I want to mount a 2" tweeter where the stock bose tweeter is. What's the largest size (diameter AND depth) that you have installed?

I'm looking into the CDT audio upstage system and components to match, pretty much 1" mounting depth, just need to know if it fits... I know I will have to cut a 2" hole, and that's fine, but I just want to see if the tweeter will fit.

thanks

Isn't the upstage for the pillar?

Yes. The upstage tweeter is for the A-pillar, but I'm curious about the 2" tweeter for the "mid-range highs if you will.

So now I actually have two questions...

1.) Is this a good set-up (I'm quite the audiophile but I can't afford the eurosports)...as in is it worth it
2.) Will the tweeters (not the upstage system) fit?

I don't think there is room for 2 inch tweeters. I mounted my Upstage tweeters in the A-pillar covers using a hole saw. I'm not sure that it's worth the money.

Okay, so I learned only yesterday after I'd removed the front door panels that there are "two tweeters" up front, is that correct? one is in the door, the other in the "A-pillar"? do i have that correct?

so what's an upstage tweeter? what are the options for replacing the stock bose tweeters (07 g35 sedan)?

I am not familiar with the 07-08 sedan audio system.

If your car has a set of tweeters in the doors and in the a-pillars, you could install an upstage kit from CDT. http://www.cdtaudio.com/stagefront_08.htm

Would the overall width in the coupe sails accept 2"? The tweeter itself is 1 1/8" I believe.

What the upstage kit does is bring the voices to the front of the car. When you're at a concert the music is coming at you. When you're in a car you're surrounded by voice, harmonics etc.

So by getting a stronger tweeter or putting a stronger emphasis on the highs it gives you a more authentic concert like sound.
make sense? (it's kinda hard to explain)

easiest thing to do is take the tweeter off the panel and see if your tweeter will fit there. I know the Focal K2 tweeter (just tweeter no housing) was a TIGHT fit - I had to fab up a method of securing the tweeter

The TN52s are a good size if I recall. I picked up a pair of Seas Neos from a DIY seller and thought I'd give them a go if they'll fit.
