Newest simple G35 Stealth Install :)

had a chance to redo the stereo in forum member bmpnride's 2004 G35 Coupe. the previous install left umm..a bit to be desired

goals:

1. very good sound quality

2. stealthy trunk with maximum space savings

3. get a decent amount of bass into the system.

lets get started.

upfront, a pioneer 5900 DVD 6 disc in dash dvd headunit was installed via the JDM finisher, the stock navi voice was retained and routed through the stock bose amp to the left rear speaker. note the remote bass control **** installed in the center stack next to the shifter:

front stage consists of a set of DLS ultimate iridium 6.3i three way component set, the midbass was installed in the stock lower door location, new wires were routed into the door and the entire door dampened:

the dome midrange and tweeter was flsuhed into the stock kick panels:

moving to the trunk, here ist he normal view, a modified 4080 box is on the passenger side, and the entire trunk is as stock:

pop off the carpet and you seea center false floor with a cut out, the cutout features a raised infiniti logo

pop the grilles off the subbox and the cover off hte rack and here is hwat you see.

two zapco iforce amps poewr the system, a 4 channel bridged sends over 200 watts to the front stage, and a mono block sends around 750 watts to the sub. the 4080 box was remolded to accomodate a single image dynamics IDMAX10 10" subwoofer. so we can get more bass into the 4080 design

and finally, a pic of the wiring below the floor to show things were neatly done:

overall, very nice sounding car as expected, and the output of hte single idmax 10 is very very nice

cheers.

b

May I ask what kind of sound insulating/ absorbing material did you use for your doors? I am thinking of doing that on top of the dampening material.

Thanks!
