Sound deadening the trunk and the rest of the car will help with the rattles.

^+1000. Dynamat/ Fatmat/ Hushmat all work. As far as the box you should try to do a custom enclosure with the recomended airspace settings.

raamat, dynamat and the such.

basically it is just foamish material that helps dampen the sound going out of the trunk and helps stop it from rattling like crazy.

the W7 is a PIGGGGG it needs a lot of airspace for it to work properly. I have a W6 in a box that is at the low end of the minimal requirements and I've already killed one. the problem with the W6s and 7s is the foam surround it REALLY should be rubber. The W7 is in DESPERATE need of space so they aren't just trying to screw you on that. If you look at JLs custom's boxes for the W7 they are MASSSIVE. Since you prolly dropped a pretty penny on the sub you should take care of it and make sure it lasts as long as possible. have them build you a box. trust me on that.

For Now Till You do get another box built go to Anna's linens or a Craft shop and get a few pounds of Polyfill. This is what's in pillows. Or you could go to Target & grab a few cheapie pillows, cut open & Stuff the Box with this. What it does is help fool the speaker into thinking its in a larger box. Oh Your box is Sealed? won't work with a ported box
