Thumbs down gen 4 nanos and car adapters

So word is Apple in their brilliant business model of planned obsolesence to maximize profit just changed the way the nano charges so that most car adapters will no longer be able to charge it. It will no longer charge off a 12v source and now will only charge from a usb 2.0 5 volt source.

So if this is true, not only will you need to buy a new mount since they once again changed the size you will need to buy a new and as yet unavailable adapter or run on the internal battery.

I would like to confirm myself but in yet another brilliant move only the 8gb models are available this week in case you wanted to buy one of those for $50 less than you could get a 16gb version next week.

I am really really starting to detest apple

I'm unsure if I understand your post so I will pose my question to you. My '03 has no I Pod plug(that I can see) so I bought a Belkin Tune Base to plug into the power adaptor on the dash. The owner's manual states not to use when the lights are on or the air conditioner. It works fine, charges the Nano, and can be controlled by the radio. It says not to use it in the cig lighter. However, according to the O.M. don't use it at night or on hot days?

the very minimal draw of an ipod adapter will have no effect on your electrical system. You can use that power port for it any time, day night ac or not. It won't matter.
