"Cutting" through dynamat after install
Hello all. About two years ago I had Tweeter (f***ing idiots) install dynamat on my door panels, and around in my trunk.
Well, my driver-side window motor needs to get cleaned/replaced. I open up the door and realize that the dynamat black tar & metalic paper is covering up the nuts/screws that hold the door panel together, and also covering the "seam" where the metal panel of the door comes off and provides access to the window & motor.
How can I get around this? How can I "cut" through this black tar stuff so I can get my door apart?

get an xacto knife that you don't care about, because its pretty hard to clean after you get all the goop on there and start cutting pieces out and then try prying them up with the knife... also might try freezing it with ice packs? i know that when i was installing it in the heat, it got REALLY sticky
Did this before when I was working with temporary baffles in my previous car. I used a box cutter. A razor or xacto knife will work just fine. To remove the goo, use goo gone.
