Uh, bose sucks

That would be all the cost and none of the benefits.

You pretty much describe every single radio out there. Every radio except maybe some mid '80s works with steering wheel controls. A $40 adapter is all you need. If you're just looking for basics, I can't recommend anything other than the $280

It's basic, but if you feel the need, you can add pretty much any adapter Pioneer makes - XM, Sirius, Navigation, HD Radio, Bluetooth, rear view camera...

With a Metra kit you can have the whole thing with steering wheel controls for under $450, ($650 if you buy the JDM kit) if you do the install yourself. I've got plenty of assistance on this board, and have helped plenty of people who were stereo-install virgins as well.

^ lots of benifits

1- matching led colors
2- retain wheel controls
3- resale value

but most importantly, no punks breaking in to your car to steal your aftermarket 1,000 DD

looking at that pioneer it's good for the money, would be cool if it had hdmi input so i could hook the phone up and use google nav.
the main thing holding me back from aftermarket is theft

anyone have a dead OEM unit they want to send me so i can try to fix and write a DIY

1 many units have variable lighting colors to match
2 40 dollars and any unit retains steering wheel controls
3 having the bose does not affect resale value
4 the bose units fail just as often, if not moreso, than the non bose ones, since their amp fails a lot too

As for theft, - I just made a cover for my aftermarket radio from the factory face plate. Looks completely stock and it only cost 50 cents for the glue used.

My radio -a/c decides to work every once in a while.. Seems everything works fine in cold days . But whene its hot it dies out .

I started having issues with my radio a/c last week...heat comes on at full blast on 90 degrees with no way to shut it off. Dealer wants $700 for new radio...I said KMA! Went to radio spot and they couldn't install aftermarket cause they said it wouldn't fit with my stock navigation. I was going to do it myself but today I found a spot that will fix the stock radio issue for $260 with 1 year warranty....I'm trying to trade the car in within the next months anyways so this seems like the best bet.

Anyone in the Boston/Providence area that needs the stock radio fix, I went to Auto Sound in Plainville, MA....508-643-9925. Should be ready in less a week so I'll keep you posted.

Sorry to bring up this old thread, but this problem just happened to me 2 weeks after buying a 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan used from the dealership. First I am going to see if the dealership is willing to fix it since it happened so soon, but I am not holding my breath. My radio will still play but not show up on the dash, I can only control it through the steering wheel controls. The first time this happened I turned the car off and then started it up and everything was back to normal, but now the AUTO AC is stuck on and won't turn off. This is my first car purchase and it sucks I already have to dump money into it since I am a college student with little money haha.

So here are some things I am looking at getting.

Since I am not getting new speakers and just plan on using the Bose speakers, which of these will I need?

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_142C4NN...Interface.html

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CE9OY2/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=g35audiassi-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creativeASIN=B000CE9OY2 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CE9OY2/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=g35audiassi-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creativeASIN=B000CE9OY2

Also, since I want to be bale to use the steering wheel controls I'll be getting this.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B4PJC9K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B4PJC9K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Is there anything at all that I am missing? Crutchfield and amazon come to the same price after all the parts are added into the cart, any benefit of ordering one over the other? I have amazon prime and get the everything in two days so I was just going to order through them.

See this thread, created specifically for this sort of question. You can't go wrong with it. If there were cheaper parts that worked reliably, I'd replace the items in the shopping list.
https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...urce-list.html

If you were replacing the bose amp, you could change out the adapter for a cheaper harness, but you're not, so stick with the list.

Thank you for your quick response! I didn't order anything until I heard back from the dealer where I bought the car, and they are going to replace the circuit board free of charge. Needless to say I am very happy! If it happens again then I will go ahead and do the radio replacement.

Edit: When my dad dropped the car off at the dealership this morning for them to look at, the damn A/C and radio were functioning normally haha.
