trunk space and system question

trunk space and system question

I have a friend of a friend who is selling 2 12 inch jl audio w7's for real cheap and im wondering if these will fit in the trunk of a 08 g35xs and also for those subs will i need any thing special to power them, right now i have a jl audio 1000 watt amp a capacitor(its some type of stinger) 0 guage wiring

if he's your friend why don't you just see if they'll fit? are they just the subs and no box?

should fit I mean not for sure but out of all the G's with 2 12's mine included with box its fine. Kind of depends on the box.

Buy another 1000watt amp...use one for each sub.

Yes they will be fine with about 2-2.5 cubic feet gross, sealed. The amp you have (1000/1?) will be fine to power them. I would spend the money to have an enclosure custom made, or build yourself. Have a double baffle(face) as the W7's are heavy subs and eventually may pull apart a prefab box. also use tee-nuts and bolts to hold them in, not screws

you will not know untill you try to put the subs in.

The box may be to long or to deep to fit in the trunk opening.

There is no way for us to know if it will fit or not. You have to try it for yourself.

500 watts to a W7 is not enough. Those subs thrive on power. You should put a 1000/1 to each of them. I have 800w going to my 10". The sub box for the W7's will take up the whole trunk. DOnt go cheap on the design. Have it built to JL specs.
