by any chance would you happen to know if using the non-rca hardness bypasses the amp?

Thanks for the info, i didnt see your replies before my last post.

I'm going to try the SCOSHCHE hardness and see if that makes a difference, if not I'll just follow your advise to bypass the amp and just run speak wires to the trunk and connect them to the speaker cables going into the amp... I'll post the results

i had the same problem when installed mine, play around with the audio setting i made my stock speakers work better then they were before and the bass increased. So play around with the setting if it worked for me it will work for you also.

 

The Eclipse deck that I'm about to install has a preamp voltage of 3v.
Is that sufficient? Or will I have the same issues as some of the others.

 

A quick painless bypass would be to remove the harness and wire the pre to the post wired speaker wires. You would lose the sub though.

A complete bypass was what I was leaning toward in my other post in your other thread. Get all the Bose crap out.

 

You wouldn't want to connect a pre-out to an actual speaker. You'd have to used the amplified outputs on the HU instead.

 

I mean use the HU wiring only. No rcas at all just basic wire to wire while bypassing the amp. Wouldnt hurt to add some decent 4ohm speakers.

looks good, i wasgonna get a scosche wiring harness as an alternative for the metra wire harness to see if that does the trick

 

i have the same problem, i just installed a d3 and the sound coming from my bose speakers are horrible. i have the 2 wire harnessess with the rcas. If i just go ahead and change the speakers will i get better sound? or would i need that wiring harness without rca's. the sound the bose speakers gave with the bose headunit was great, im not looking for a really amplified sound, just one that is able to keep up with the bose speakers. If all i have to do is change the speakers then i will go and pick up infinity reference 6.5 and 6x9. any help is appreciated

 

i found the solution to all our problems. get the metra harness no. 70-7550, the one for nissan 1995-2005. It is all wires instead of the rca wires. Now my D3 is on volume 9 and it sounds very loud. The rca wires u have william act as a converter and it messes up the frequencies that the bose speakers and amp give. Get that metra harness and replace it with the one with the rca's. fastest and cheapest way to maintain your great bose sound with an aftermarket headunit. IM ****IN HAPPY I GOT MY SOUND.

As I understand it, the Metra 7551 harness (the one WITH the RCA plugs) is for headunits with preamp voltage of 4V or higher; If yours has less, use the 7550 harness as peteislike has noted.

I have the Pioneer F90BT headunit with 4.0 preout voltage and my sound is fine.
