I'm using the PAC SNI-35, it's two channels and adjustable for gain. The amp also has bass boost, by pass filter. The audio shop said all the settings on the amp and LOC and wiring of the sub were correct it's just not getting a full signal with the wires it was connected to. With16 pages of repeated success I found it odd that I wasn't experiencing the same thing.

 

Did u connect the brown plug back to the stock sub to power it up or no? and why

 

Brown wires are not needed.

Nope, no reason to have the stock sub connected still

 

If I connect the L+R rca cables to the amp, less bass coming out of my single 12" Kenwood subwoofer. But if I connect only one RCA (left or right doesn't matter ) to the amp, sub hits harder and perfect.
So do you know what's the issue or should I leave one RCA connected and listen to my music ?

 

When running an aftermarket amp + sub. all thats needed for the amp is RCAs and remote turn on from the head unit to the amp? or should i use a LOC and get everything at the factory amp

 

hi all, I've searched the thread and found no similar problem, and if this is a repeat, I apologize. Anyway, i hooked everything up exactly like you did, only difference being my loc required, power, ground, and remote power. It kills my battery overnight, wondering if the wiring to my loc is a possible problem? Thanks

 

What did you tap for power for the LOC?

 

I grabbed power from the 12v going to the amp. However, while playing with it yesterday, I realized I should just grab power from the remote wire so it's only on when the stereo is on I'll update if my problem continues.

 

Hey guys, I plan on swapping out my stock sub and replace it with an aftermarket sub w/ amp but I'm trying to find a diy on how to remove it. I already broke the bose cove trying to remove it from the top, but don't want to f anything else up. It's my project this weekend.

 

You have to remove the rear c-pillar covers, and the rear deck trim to get to the bolts holding it in.

 

If this helps my loc device is only using pos & neg wire from stock sub connector and rca's to amp, all other line were snipped from the device. Try splicing the wire to run from there. My car already had everything wired.

 

So I tried taking off the bose sub cover and that was a fail. Then I tried cutting a around the edges from the deck to allow sub to fit and that also failed. After having no luck I found a dyi removing rear deck brake light and it's exactly the same everything except chng'ing the sub in light bulbs.

 

Ok guys so I went with an 8" jl w3 sub and paired it with th jl 250/1 amp and I do have to say that it's definitely a huge improvement but I have a couple issues.
1. Since there isn't really an enclosure for the sub besides the cover for the trunk the whole deck tends to rattle slightly. I'm thinking of buying some sound proofing to help reduce the rattle, or adding some type of insulation
2. I don't really have a spot to place the amp. I wanted to hide it but now looking in the trunk the really isn't anywhere I could tuck behind any of the trunk covers. May just have to drill it to back of seat. In the trunk of course.
