Well, these headunits are fragile enough as it is, I guess you've got a good excuse to kick it to the curb.

This install has nothing to do with the back speakers. It's tapping off of the subwoofer wires in the rear deck.

so the 6x9's woofers will no longer work or is the sub wiring just piggy backing for the signal wires that go to the amp for the woofers?

Yes, they'll keep working, but it's a waste to have them running with a real woofer.

Plus it sounds like you have a coupe? There's just a single round sub in the back deck. I think there's a coupe write up sticky too that may also help ya.

Like wrathernaut said, it will keep working but it's pointless with any aftermarket sub, so I just unplugged my stock woofer.

The 03 sedan looks different. Is it still okay to hook up the loc to the black and white wires like in the DIY or should i hook them up somewhere else. sorry i am very new to this and i dont know what the best place would be to hook up an loc. I am using the same loc as in the diy and im hooking it up to a mono amp.

The amp is completely different. It only has one connection. I wasnt sure if in the pictures there were more wires connected to the sub than the black and white, but it didnt look like it. In the 03 sedan theres 6 wires. I know the green wire is still the amp turn on but should i still splice the loc with black and white wires going to the sub?

Yeah the green/white wire is the only wire that needs to be spliced at the factory amp. Are the wire colors different at the plug that goes into the sub? If the colors are the same you should be good to go. But as with all electronics, you should use a multimeter to test and make sure.(basic one can be had for under $10 at like harbor freight.)

My bad I was looking at the pics wrong. I thought you were showing there were two plugs on the amp.

The green/white wire on the black/dark plug should be your amp turn on(the wire I was referring to to test) and the black and white wires on the brown plug should be the same audio wires. Don't believe the any of the colors changes from 03-04, just the amp looks different.
