Sorry blaze I see what you mean now, the sub has its own small amp. So my best bet would be to connect the LOC to terminals 1 & 2. Then connect the amp turn on to 4. Remove the sub and sub amp and install the new amp to this set of wires

Hey ENDRO**,

Try using the plug going into the sub for LOC, splicing into one of the amp channels pre amp for LOC and then not plugging it in will make a potentially sloppy connection (unless you use shrink tube) and could disconnect while driving. Your going to unplug the stock sub, so just use the positive and negative there for RCA's and then use your pre amp amp turn on wire for your remote wire.

Keep everyone updated, sounds like the 08 is fun lol

The first harness pictured (long and rectangular) is the harness that was attached to the main amplifier. Im 99% sure this is called the B41 connector and it powers most of the cars speakers. The second harness pictured (almost square) is the one that plugs in next to the subwoofer and that subs own small amplifier.

lol i just read your post again and realized that i just rephrashed everything you just said, yeah use sky blue and violet for LOC and just unplug the amp and use the pre amp, amp turn on wrie there for remote wire, your stock sub and amp should be unhooked any way for optimal sound.

Happy wiring

Ok yeah I read your second to last post and was a bit confused on what I should do differently lol. But I'll definitely post some pics of the install as soon as my stuff starts coming in. I ordered a JL 12w6v2-4, JL 500/1 amp, Scosche 4 gauge amp kit, Stinger line out converter, and a couple other little things last night. I'll be building a custom box, amp rack and so forth so it'll take a little time but should be a nice project when completed.

Thanks for the help guys!

^ Pics? Ive got a simple set up, 2 12's mtx terminators, used the LOC so running stock deck. I bought this little adapter from future shop too, Ive got an 04 G so no aux. You need a $20 adapter and the units $100, but basically it plugs into your radio antenna, and when you press the power button on the unit it kills the signal meaning no static or radio and channels it into an AUX output which you then play music through so even though im on 87.9 I get aux quality! look into it, my cd player skips like a school girl -_-

how many volts do you need at the high low converter?
I am getting 6.22v at each the - & + from it.
I a
getting battery voltage At my remote wire, and I have 12v on my ground but my sub still won't work.
it's actually a 3 way speaker, but it still has the red and black input on it.
all signs point to bad speaker huh? the amp works for sure cuz it was working a few weeks ago when I had it in my other car then I took it out to put it in the g35.
I swore that 3-way speaker worked! good thing it's under lifetime wartamty

Should be 12 v pre amp wire. What do you mean by "3" way speaker? And depending on what Impedance your "speaker" plays at the amp and speaker may still be working just not a possible match without bridge.

hmm. well from the remote wires I have 12v
from the oem speaker that I tap Into to get the sign to convert to RCA, I am only trying 6.2v there.
by 3 way speaker I mean that it has 2 vocals built into it and 1 12" sub
my amp turns on andeverything.
like you said; they don't match with out a bridge. what does this mean?

the remote wire has 12 v power but has nothing to do with your sub, all it does is send very little power to the amp so it knows to turn on. Try tapping into the OEM wire thats going in to the OEM amp instead of speaker that way you know its 12 v power. What I mean by bridge is, Bridging an amplifier allows you to cut the number of channels the amp uses in half and double the power sent to each speaker. So if you have a 4ohm amp and your sub plays at 2ohms, bridge it down to 2ohms and it should work. Look up your subs specs itll say what it plays at

Check how many channels your amp has aswell, if you look at where the speaker wire conneccts and its a two channel amp for example you'll see two sets of positives and negatives and right above that it'll say bridged mode and you'll be using one connection terminal from each set, that will result in you bridging the amp.

do you know what color the wires are on the amp?(the wire to tap into to convert to RCA)
my amp is 5 channels.
and I wired channel 1 Into the 3 way speaker and I messes with the settings on it and nothing.
all I hear from the vocal speakers on the sub is static

you have 12v coming from your rear center oem speaker?
the 6.2 v from the speaker was with the car off.
