Before I proceed on running a system through, I do plan on taking care one issue. I'm a new G35 owner. Recently purchased an 04 sedan. Everything on the dash lights up and works as it should. Only issue is that no sound comes out. Like the AC controller works. AM/FM shows song titles. CD seems to work...it ejects and plays. Just no sound. Any idea what it could be and how to go about fixing it???

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

You can get a free air subwoofer that uses the trunk as a "box", however I don't know how plug and play or drop in it would be. From what I have seen, just throwing a small sub in a box and following the write up will yield a bit better sound for around the same if not less cost/effort than getting a sub to work in the stock location

I also wanted to make a note as a follow up. Besure that you guys are sealing up the cut you make in the boot to make sure that rain/car wash water doesn't run down it and drip on potential electronics. I've seen good results with silicone/aquarium sealant

You would also have to take out the ENTIRE back seat to gain access and remove rear shelf. I believe this is the only way to remove the factory sub. Don't know much about free air subs but IMO, I would get a sub box and sacrifice a little bit of trunk space over the free air sub

I hooked up amp and sub to my factory HU using a LOC. I tapped into rear speakers from the Bose amp harness located in the trunk. I then connected the accessory wire to amp turn on wire on the harness as well. My aftermarket amp turns on and the subs are thumping but the speakers in the car doesn't work. Any idea what it might be? I mean, I connected each speaker wire (line input) from harness to my 4-channel amp out-put speakers connection. Did I miss something?? Please help.

And another thing, my Bose amp doesn't work. So I was trying to bypass it. Thanks in advance.

So you have the factory Bose HU? How do you have it hooked up to the amp? Do you have a LOC for the 4 channel?

Yes, I still have the factory Bose HU. I unplugged the Bose speaker amp because everything worked in the car except for sound. So that's how I knew that amp was bad. So what I did was I went and bought a line out converter. I located the rear speaker out wire from the harness and connected the LOC to it. I believe that the bose speaker harness also have the speaker input wires so I tap into each one of them and ran it right to my aftermarket amp to power them. But no luck. Subs work but speakers don't..

Just to be clear, after I tapped into the speaker out wire off the harness with the LOC, I then ran the RCA cable from the LOC to input jacks on the aftermarket amp.

And you asked if I have a LOC for the 4 channel?? Does this mean I'm suppose to have two LOC for the set up? If so, how do I set it up?? Thanks

If I recall correctly I believe you wire a LOC to the signal going INTO, from the HU to the amp. Plug in your your RCAs to your aftermarket amp, then wire the signal going out of your amp to the wires going out of the factory amp that are already connected to the speakers. There should be a diagram on here somewhere telling you what color is what

if that's the case then I must have done my connection backwards. I'll take everything apart tomorrow and set it up like you explained. I'll make sure to follow up when I'm done.
Thanks again

Quick question, which jack should I plug the RCA's into on the aftermarket amp.. Input or output jack?
