I have found that 9/10 times you get better results performing "The Big Three" than slapping on a cap if the electrical system is a touch under par for the stereo in the car.

Lol. So true though

Especially when you are messing with one under a seat and your watch happens to touch both terminals causing a few links to weld to each other rendering the watch unremovable Originally Posted by gh0st

Since they're budget subs, not real SQ or SPL, you won't hear the difference with a higher quality amp, so just do something like this:Originally Posted by g35>350z.werd

Your subs are the 4 ohm version, right? So you'll wire them in parallel to show the amp a 2 ohm load, so you'll give them each 250 watts to play with, which should give you enough thump to enjoy your rap or pop music just fine.
If you wanted to enjoy some really high-quality bass in classic rock, rock, or classical, you got the wrong subs. Alpine Type-R's are a much better (and still pretty cheap) choice if you intended to listen to that kind of music.

Well, enjoy then, rap's really forgiving with cheap subs, I suppose that's a redeeming feature?

A lot of these will depend on what settings your headunit is set to, particularly the input voltage, boosts.
Sorry, I never checked what I'd settled on before I left.

Most of these are covered in the install manual, but again, most are greatly affected by the rest of your system beyond the subwoofer itself.

so i have been having problems with my sub/amp. i have a 12" Memphis PR with a 500W PR1 amp connected to the stock sub and amp. Lately the 12" just stops working. i took a look at the amp and its not going into "protect" mode (overheating) and all the cables are connected right. sometimes i can hear (i believe) the stock sub "crackle", like when you have a bad/broken speaker. i have no idea if the stock equipment is bad and causing interference with the aftermarket stuff. i would appreciate any help since i dont know whats going on...

I just posted in your other thread. I installed a f700bt on my sedan w/ Bose, and now my sub doesn't work anymore. I was just wondering if it was normal, and if installing a separate amp will make it work again.Originally Posted by Wrathernaut
